Signs your alignment is out

  • The vehicle pulls to one side on a straight road
  • The steering wheel sits off centre when you drive straight
  • Tires wear faster on the inside or outside edge
  • The steering feels loose or wanders

Why it matters

A vehicle that's out of alignment wears its tires faster and is harder to control on slippery winter roads. On newer vehicles, the alignment also affects how driver assistance cameras and sensors see the road, which is why alignment comes before any ADAS recalibration.

After a collision

If a hit involved a wheel, the suspension or the frame, the alignment should be checked as part of the repair. With a full time journeyman technician on staff, Fix Auto Sherwood North now finishes the alignment in house, so it's part of the same job.
